Texas A&M Corpus Christi located 13 different areas where crosswalks posed a safety threat to pedestrians and/or required improvements to meet ADA. fresch Architects with our engineering partners designed the new campus standard crosswalk: an elevated walkway / speed table with inset pavers and in-ground solar powered LED lighting.  The campus grew over much of the 20th century without a guiding master and the new crosswalks serve as a unifying element on the campus.  The paver pattern developed on the crosswalks has been adopted by the University as a standard and implemented in other areas of hardscape around the campus furthering the unifying impact.
