The existing offices of the Riviera Telephone Company are dated and no longer appropriately serve the programmatic needs of the company and employees. The concept of the renovation opens the floor plan and introduces a concise entry component. An added clerestory over the lobby and open work areas brings daylight into the heart of the building. Sustainable design strategies include daylighting supplemented with LED lighting, reuse of the primary building structure, low VOC finishes, and drought tolerant landscape.  The design of the renovation / additions was superseded by a new office building study for an adjacent site.  Ultimately the new office building option was selected and it is currently under construction.  The existing / former office building is currently serving as a field office.
